Monday, May 7, 2018 – As part of an inspection and working visit to the Tlemcen province, Mr. Youcef Yousfi, Minister of Industry and Mines, visited our subsidiary SITEL (Société Algérienne de Télécommunication), located in the Chetouane industrial zone. SITEL specializes in the manufacturing of telecommunication components (modems), electrical components (energy meters), and electrical wiring harnesses for automobiles.

Youcef Yousfi emphasized that the production of electrical components aligns with the national automotive industry strategy, which holds a significant place in the program of President Abdelaziz Bouteflika.

He stated that Algeria possesses all the necessary resources to develop this industry, including steel, iron, textiles, and petrochemicals, which enable the manufacturing of vehicle components. He highlighted that "the objective is to create thousands of private enterprises in the automotive accessories and component industry."

The minister further explained that each vehicle requires between 30,000 and 40,000 components, which could help generate 10,000 jobs. He also recalled that the government has granted significant incentives to support this industry.
